Scheduling Concepts and Microsoft Project

In project management, a schedule is a listing of the project’s activities, milestones and deliverables with intended start and finish dates. It is part of the overall project plan.

Microsoft Project is a project management software program, that helps in developing a schedule, assigning resources to activities, tracking progress, managing the budget, and analyzing workloads.

This course provides the participant the necessary knowledge and hands on experience to be able to apply scheduling concepts and use Microsoft Project in their projects.

  • Guidance to install trial version of software, if required
  • Hands on exercises on the Microsoft Project tool using sample project tasks

Business Analysis

Business Analysis is a set of tasks and techniques used by business analysts who work as liaisons among stakeholders to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization; and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

Business Analysis activities may be performed by different roles in an organization like business analysts, system analysts, product managers, process managers etc.

This course is designed to give the participant a solid knowledge in the role and responsibility of a Business Analyst.  Topics are reinforced with hands-on practices including in class exercises, projects and feedback.

This Course would allow the participant to understand various Business Analysis concepts including:

  • Software development methodologies including Waterfall, Agile/Scrum
  • Types of Requirements including Functional and non-Functional
  • Diagramming using Unified Modeling Language [UML] and BPMN
  • Usage of tools like Star UML for diagramming
  • Prototyping and mock up screens using tools like Axure
